A Dopp Kit is, essentially, a men's shaving bag that is used for storing men’s grooming tools for travel. The Dopp Kit acquired it's name from a German leather-goods maker, Charles Doppelt. In 1919 he invented this toiletry case with the help of his nephew. It was introduced as a “toilet bag”, however, over the years, a more appropriate name of “Dopp Kit” became more widely adopted.
